iPhone Users: Add Us To Your Homepage!

Instructions on Adding Our Site to your iPhone Screen

iPhones are a great way to stay in touch and connected. The applications that can be added are great shortcuts and can make our lives easier. Now you can add THIS website to your home screen and have us at your fingertips anytime! By adding us, you can access all of the weekly information that I post on our blogs and stay up-to-date on all of the office announcements that may affect your allergy treatment.

The problem with adding a website to your home screen is that iPhone creates an icon from the first page of the website that is being added. The icon is actually a tiny representation of the site’s welcome page, and it is often too small and too difficult to make out.  So many web designers create an icon that is interpreted by iPhone as the primary representation for that site and one that will be recognized much easier. We now have a more colorful version of our “pollen-from-the-flower” icon available that can be placed on your screen when your add this site to your iPhone.

Just follow the instructions below.

  1. Using Safari on your iPhone, go to our site at www.AustinAllergies.com
  2. Tap the plus “+” symbol at the bottom of the page

  3. Tap the “Add to Home Screen” button; our icon will come up

  4. Rename the icon; pick a short name that will remind you of our office

  5. Examples include: LAAA (Lake Austin Asthma & Allergy), Dr. Martinez, AustinAllergies, Trevor’s place

Tap the “Add” button at the top of the page and that’s it! Our pollen-flower icon should now be on your iPhone screen! Whenever you need our phone number, or want to read the latest blog, or want to find out about our holiday hours, tap the icon and you’ll go to our front page and get the information you need quickly! I think you’ll find this shortcut to be very helpful throughout the allergy seasons!
